Branigan Library Offers Free Computer Classes in February 2018

Free computer literacy classes will be offered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday in February at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.

Registration is not required to participate in any of the classes. However, only the first nine people to sign up for a class will be guaranteed a computer. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.

Classes to be offered include:

Introduction to Computers: The Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6. This class is for the absolute beginner. Students will be introduced to the parts of the computer and mouse skills. They will also learn the components of Windows-based programs. Windows 10 – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. The new features of

Windows 10 and how to navigate the new operating system will be described. Topics to be covered will include the new Start Menu, Cortana and how to customize a desktop.

Internet for Beginners – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20. A class for those who want to learn how to go online and move around the internet with ease. Students will learn how to access websites, how to navigate, what web addresses are, basic searching skills, and internet safety.

Microsoft Word Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27. The class is for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.
