City to Break Ground on Convention Center Expansion
Addition to increase meeting space by 30%
The ground-breaking for the expansion of the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave., will take place at 10 a.m. next Wednesday, May 16.
The $5 million project will add approximately 17,000 square feet of meeting space, including additions to the exhibition hall, new breakout meeting rooms, additional space in the lobby and reception area, and more support space. Construction will take approximately 12 months.
The convention center will remain open and operational during construction.
The project was designed by WDG Architects in Las Cruces, NM. HB Construction, Inc. is the general contractor.
